my new camera is the Nikon D60 - just barely a week old and i can't wait to use the hell out of this thing!
unfortunately some unfavorable weather has kept me indoors this past weekend, but i did manage to take some shots.
the photos below were taken with the 18-55mm lens which came in the kit. I like it, its a good lens, can't complain.
i honestly don't have much experience with REAL cameras. In college i had to learn Photography with a Manual Camera using 35mm film, had to do the whole dark room and chemical thing which was kind of a pain in the ass. Learning all that stuff about aperture and shutter speed really helps you understand HOW the camera works and how to use the camera to work for you!
So, like the dork i am, after i got my camera i dug out my Photography 101 book in my crate filled with college stuff and studied up on terms and tips and just anything that would help me get past using the automatic setting.
i have a long way to go but i had to see what this sucker could come up with (since i had only used a D60 for a few hours thanks to my boss - he even helped me get my gear at a great price - Thanks Bill!)

an adorable wild rabbit munching on some grass.
i've always liked zooming in on small objects. I wasn't going to get too close... i zoomed in a bit, focusing too much on the flower, but touching up the sharpness on the bee should help its clarity.
theres a bridge at the reservoir that i thought looked neat. took this shot...
even tho head on is quite obvious, i find this shot a little more...eerie. came out good. i looks a little uncomfortably inviting. to cross or not to cross....
and just a few more images below
